Broccolini / ABB Canada
Broccolini, a Canadian leader in residential, commercial, and industrial construction, announced today the long-term establishment of a high quality tenant, ABB Canada, within a new prestigious, energy-efficient building currently under construction in the Saint-Laurent Campus of Technoparc Montréal.
Broccolini's new building, the ABB Campus, will offer more than 300,000 ft² of space and will house the new ABB Canada corporate headquarters. The ABB Campus will be built in harmony with ABB's vision for sustainable development. In addition to benefiting from a number of environmentally friendly construction principles, the new building will feature secure bicycle storage areas, showers, charging stations for electric vehicles as well as lighting that meets the highest environmental standards. Furthermore, the building will target LEED Silver certification, a globally recognized trademark in energy efficiency.
"We are very proud to become home to the Canadian headquarters of ABB, a global organization. This is the second time this year that an international company has chosen Technoparc Montréal for the establishment of their Canadian headquarters. We would like to acknowledge the contribution of Broccolini to the increased vitality of the Technoparc Montréal Saint-Laurent Campus. Once again, they have helped confirm our ability to accommodate such major players," declared Mario Monette, President and CEO of Technoparc Montréal.
Campus ABB, for which construction will end in the spring of 2017, is the third building built by the Broccolini family on the very coveted site of Technoparc Montréal's Saint-Laurent Campus.
"We are proud to see this important project come to life and to welcome a tenant of the scale of ABB Canada," said Anthony Broccolini, Chief Operating Officer and representative of the 3rd generation of Broccolinis heading the company. "This reinforces our leadership position in industrial construction as well as the vision for sustainable development we have emphasized for over 65 years now."
"With combined access to major highways and public transportation, the Saint-Laurent Campus helps attract quality businesses who, like us, believe that environmentally responsible real estate development is not an impediment to growth but, on the contrary, acts as a driver for economic development," added Roger Plamondon, senior Vice President, Real Estate Development and Acquisitions at Broccolini.
"Thanks to this innovative project, ABB will be able to offer higher quality services and products to its customers and maintain its global leadership position," explained Nathalie Pilon, President and CEO of ABB Canada.
With this new building, Broccolini adds to its prestigious list of over thirty energy-efficient commercial and industrial buildings in Quebec and Ontario, many of which have already received LEED certification.
As a real estate owner and developer, the Broccolini family believed, from the start, in the development potential of the Saint-Laurent Campus and in its positive impact on economic activity in the greater Montreal area.
Broccolini continues to pursue its efforts in attracting more major international organizations to the Technoparc Montréal Saint-Laurent Campus.
