Premium Outlets - Mirabel
Simon Property Group Inc., together with their Canadian partners, Calloway Real Estate Investment Trust and commercial developer, SmartCentres, awarded Broccolini the construction of their first Premium Outlet Center in Quebec, located in Mirabel, just north of Montreal.
The first phase of the centre covered 424,611 sq.ft. of leasable space housing 80 outlet stores. The concept behind the stores is to offer clients prestigious brand names and high-end merchandise at a discounted price.
Mayor of Mirabel, Hubert Meilleur, noted that the project permited the development of a portion of the Lac Mirabel area.
John Broccolini, CEO of Broccolini, added, "After having built the Marché Central in Montreal and the Faubourg Boisbriand, we were ready for this new challenge. Premium Outlet Centers are well known in the United States, it is a great honour to contribute to their establishment here in Quebec." The shopping centre was built on Chemin Notre-Dame, near Exit 28 of the Laurentian Autoroute. Construction started in the summer of 2013 was completed in the fall 2014, in time for the grand opening in October.
