EMS Satcom
The construction of this two-floor building made it possible to meet the company's record growth. The building not only satisfied their need for more space but also offered a more efficient configuration, giving them the ability to develop and deliver new products.
Broccolini won a competition, put on by Cushman & Wakefield LePage, for the design-build of this project for the new EMS Satcom headquarters, Canadian division of EMS Technologies, based in Atlanta, Georgia, a company dedicated to the design and manufacturing of satellite communication systems.
EMS SATCOM’s commercial space consists of 105,000 sq.ft., in a 2-storey building, and houses the company’s Ottawa-based research and development, manufacturing facilities and administrative and management teams.
Acting as the general contractor and owner of the building, Broccolini, hired a team of professionals including, among others, Rubin & Rotman (Architects), Halsall Associates Ltd. (Structural Engineers), Houle Chevrier Engineering (Geotechnical Engineers), McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd. (Civil/Municipal Engineers) and Gino J. Aiello (Landscape Architects). Moreover, Broccolini worked with EMS' Interior Architecture Consultants, Gansen Lindsay Design, in order to create a high-end indoor environment.
