Conestoga Cold Storage

Conestoga Cold Storage is a private company that specializes in cold storage and has facilities in Vaudreuil, Dorval, Kitchener, Mississauga, and Calgary. In December 2020, Conestoga Cold Storage entrusted Broccolini with the management of its new expansion project (Phase 3) of its existing warehouse in Vaudreuil. Broccolini assisted the professionals and the client so that the plans were ready for construction in the spring.

This project includes a cold storage expansion (45,800 sq. ft.) with a height of 48 feet, a refrigerated loading dock area (8,350 sq. ft.) and a new mechanical room on the roof. The temperature of the building varies between -18˚C (in the warehouse) and 4˚C (in the loading dock area). The existing offices are on the ground floor and first floor of the front part of the building.

Several insulated metal panels ensure the energy efficiency of the building. The exterior envelope of the warehouse is also made of metal cladding. The loading dock and offices are made of precast concrete panels. Due to the nature of the soils on the site, piles were installed under the foundations and rigid inclusions were made under the area of the slab on grade. This project also had a joint-less slab on grade.

This project began in June 2021 and officially ended at the beginning of February 2023. By mid-March 2022, the warehouse was ready to accommodate the installation of the racking in the warehouse area.
